The region's leading event for the fire, fire prevention and fire safety industries, Fire Department Instructor’s Conference Bahrain (FDIC Middle East) will be back in Bahrain next year. 

FDIC Middle East 2009 is being organised under the patronage of Sheikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, minister of the interior, from February 17 to 19.

The major highlights of the expo will be new developments, hands-on-training (HOTs), educational courses and leading exhibition demonstrating the industries latest products and innovations.

The ministry of the interior (Bahrain), PennWell Corporation, Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Bureau (Beca) and the General Directorate of Civil Defence Bahrain (GDCD) expressed delight at the return of FDIC Middle East to the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
 
'December 2007 saw the second FDIC event in the Middle East and achieved a 20 per cent growth in visitors, who thronged to update their skills and techniques and discover what the fire industry has to offer in the region.

The FDIC opening ceremony was a well attended one with the event patron Sheikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the minister of the interior heading the celebration.

The other special guests included Major General Abdul Latif Al Zayani, chief of Public Security, and Brigadier Khalid Al Absi, Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Defence.

The event enjoys high-level support from both within the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as from the industrial sector.

The ministry of the interior and through this the General Directorate of Civil Defence under the leadership of Major General Abdul Latif Al Zayani has pledged his full support.

FDIC Middle East helps fire-fighters in the Middle East save lives and is the only event in the region to offer hands-on-training in real life situations.-TradeArabia News Service
