AMB celebrates one million LTI
Dubai

Al Masaood Bergum (AMB) has marked one million man-hours without a lost time injury (LTI) on its labour accommodation project at Dubai Waterfront.

This health and safety milestone was celebrated by an awards presentation by the senior management team to the project managers and workers involved in the project, the company said in a statement.

The plaque and certificate were received by Mike Walker, AMB’s quality health safety and environmental (QHSE) manager and workers who have been involved from the start of the project, it added.

The project, which commenced in October 2007, has seen in excess of 1,100 people on site and is planned for completion in June. During the construction period, 1,150 safety inspections have taken place, 2,250 staff inductions have been carried out and there were 4,600 toolbox talks for employees of the project.

“At AMB our work force is our asset and we invest time in training, and money in safety, to care for our team. Safety awareness is a top priority and measures are in place to ensure our team is looked after. It is important that we look after our hard-working team and continue to deliver excellent results for our clients,” said AMB general manager Steve McConnachie.

A lunch reception for over 700 workers was held following the presentation and a personal water canteen was provided to each worker as part of AMB’s 2008 ‘Heat Stress Awareness Campaign’.

As the leading supplier of pre-fabricated steel and timber frame buildings in the Middle East, AMB works with clients including Fluor, Siemens, Schlumberger and several of the regions leading developers. – TradeArabia News Service
