Dubai to host key meeting
Sharm-el-Sheik

The Government of Dubai, in conjunction with the World Economic Forum (WEF), will host the first meeting of Global Agenda Council (GAC) in Dubai from November 7 to 9.

The launch by the WEF of the committee of leading experts on the 'Future of the Middle East' is one of more than 80 councils that will tackle key global issues. For each major topic the forum will assemble 15 to 30 of the world's leading experts. All of the councils will meet at the first summit in Dubai, a  Khaleej Times report said.

The Dubai GAC will for the first time be used as a brainstorming event for the annual meeting in Davos.

Commenting on the development, Nabil Alyousuf, director-general, The Executive Office, Government of Dubai, said: 'Our region is taking a bigger role in shaping the global agenda — fortunately there is very good news from our part of the world and we will be working closely with the WEF in ensuring this is a success.'
