National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), a reputed Indian fashion school, will open a branch in Muscat, an Indian minister has announced.
'There is demand and we are open to proposals from Muscat,' Shankarsinh Waghela, India's Minister of Textiles, who's in Oman for an event, was quoted as saying in a Gulf News report.
He was speaking on the sidelines of a promotional event for the Indian handicraft and handloom industry expo in Muscat.
The minister met with Dr Omar Bin Abdul Munim Al Zawawi, external liaison adviser to the Sultan of Oman. A private college owned by Al Zawawi could partner with NIFT for its branch in Oman, the report said.
