Edaad, a scholarship program that seeks to consolidate the UAE's educational base, has awarded scholarships to 40 students to study law at Saint Joseph University (USJ) in Dubai.
Edaad has partnered with USJ in Dubai to provide scholarship grants for UAE nationals who want to pursue a career in legal profession and ultimately become the future pillars of the judicial system in the country.
The scholars are part of a pioneering batch of 93 students under the Faculty of Law of the university.
The USJ law program, which will use Arabic as the primary medium of instruction, has been customised to meet the unique cultural requirements of the UAE, offering students an exclusive opportunity to obtain a distinguished certificate in law without having to leave the country and study abroad.
'Edaad's partnership with USJ allows students to study law at a prestigious university based in the country. We are opening new possibilities for UAE citizens to enhance their career options, particularly promising young students,” said Adel Al Shared, director of Edaad.
With the inclusion of the new batch of scholars, Edaad has now provided academic support to over 370 secondary and university students, including a rapidly growing population of female scholars who account for up to 40 per cent of the total number of scholarships that were granted from June 2001 until February 2008.
Edaad scholars have been sent to over 60 universities and colleges in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia, producing over 170 graduates who now occupy high posts in different organisations.-TradeArabia News Service
