Al Khaliji unveils eco-friendly ATMs
Doha

Al khaliji is equipping customers with some of the world's most advanced eco-friendly automated telling machines (ATMs) as part of its commitment to innovation and customer care.

The new machines, which are currently deployed at five prominent locations throughout Qatar, employ cutting edge technology, including high-end graphic display guiding the customers through transactions.

Al khaliji plans to have up to ten offsite ATMs throughout Qatar by the end of this year.

Designed by Wincor Nixdorf, the next-generation machines feature a raft of clever innovations designed to make the ATM banking experience simpler, safer and secure.

Not only do the machines’ ample screens give customers a visual idea of what's happening to their money – displaying cheques and receipts on-screen – they also provide a new level of functionality with Web Services allowing customers to see Reuters news feeds and Doha Securities Market prices in both English and Arabic.

Technical innovation has also been applied to the way the machines are kept clean, by means of a specialised biodegradable cleaning set, giving antimicrobial protection that lasts over a week using/based on Nanotechnology.

Environmentally minded customers can also rest assured that the new machines have been designed for maximum savings on energy consumption. ATMs feature self-regulating LCD brightness controllers that respond to sunlight. Production is done using the latest eco-friendly technologies which uses fewer solvents and minimises water and waste.

Security is assured by anti-fraud kits being in built as standard and as a first all machines being hardened from electronic attacks in addition to physical attacks.

Andrew Liew, Al Khaliji's managing executive, retail banking said: 'We at al khaliji realise that standards and expectations from our customers for banking have changed. This realisation is applied in everything we do, from our branches to our products and now, our ATMs.

'It is all part of our promise to be a next generation bank and do things differently.' - TradeArabia News Service
