81pc get green info from TV, Web: CNN
Dubai

CNN International’s global online consumer survey on the environmental and energy sectors revealed that 81 per cent of the CNN audience use television and the web as their preferred source of “green” information.

The results followed a record 250 per cent increase in the number of energy sector advertisers on CNN from both traditional and renewable energy companies since 2003 and confirmed the consumer value of branded “green” content from a trusted media source.

The news that television and the web top the list of preferred information sources for staying updated on environmental/green issues suggests advertisers must leverage both platforms simultaneously to connect with premium audiences at a time when CNN is confirmed as first choice international news channel to reach upscale television and online audiences across Europe.

Blogs proved the least popular media source for information on green/environmental issues, suggesting the value of branded content from a trusted source.

“Five years ago, energy was our seventh largest sector advertiser and it’s now ranked third. We’ve had longstanding commercial partnerships with traditional energy companies like Shell, but now we’re seeing an influx of renewable energy companies advertising with us either through spot campaigns or branded content,” commented Rani Raad, SVP Advertising Sales, CNN International.-TradeArabia News Service
