Chairman of Al Habtoor Group Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor has contributed Dh18.35 million ($5 million) to the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research (DHFMR) to support its efforts to raise the bar of healthcare excellence in the Arab world.
The contribution will make Al Habtoor a founder member of the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medial Research, joining an elite group of donors.
Acknowledging this generous donation, the Medical Simulation Center at the Harvard Medical School Dubai Center Institute for Postgraduate Education and Research, currently under construction at Dubai Healthcare City, a member of Tatweer, will be dedicated in recognition of Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor.
“It is an honor to support the work of Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research in cutting-edge biomedical research for the benefit of our region. Our contribution is a reflection of our group’s business objective and our commitment to the community at large,” said Al Habtoor.
“This donation from one of the prominent business leaders in the UAE affirms their keenness to support the pursuit of knowledge, especially medical research. We are thankful for this generous gift since it will help improve the research activities in the region,” said CEO Dubai Healthcare City and member of the Board of Trustees Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research Dr Muhadditha Al Hashimi.
Membership of the foundation offers philanthropists the opportunity to drive biomedical research in a number of critical disease areas, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, and neurological disorders affecting children.
As part of the Foundation Council, founder members aim to help DHFMR and DHCC realize its vision of establishing world-class health care, as well as advanced research facilities in Dubai and the region. – TradeArabia News Service
