US President George W Bush will arrive in Saudi Arabia today from Israel for talks which are expected to focus on record oil prices and the Middle East peace efforts.
Bush attended celebrations for the 60th anniversary of Isreal.
In Saudi Arabia, he will mark the 75th anniversary of Washington's close ties with the kingdom.
Bush aides have said that oil prices will top the agenda during his talks with King Abdullah and other Saudi officials.
However, Saudi Arabia, which maintains that the high oil price has nothing to do with fundamentals and is caused by the dropping dollar and specualation, is unlikely to heed his request to pump more oil.
Analysts said Bush's Saudi hosts were also likely to raise their own concerns about Washington's failure to do more to advance the Middle East peace process, amid growing fears that the influence of Shiite Iran is soaring on the back of Arab frustration.
