DWTC picks Etisalat BlackBerry service
Dubai

DWTC (Dubai World Trade Centre) has selected Etisalat BlackBerry service to create a powerful and convenient mobile solution for staff to have access to the latest information to serve clients and help in their overall business efforts.

With this, DWTC joins a growing and diverse base of more than 40,000 business users who continue to enjoy connectivity while on the move, said a company official.

DWTC selected Etisalat BlackBerry solution after an extensive review, to support its multi-dimensional business activities in venues, events and real estate management.

The dynamic and fast paced nature of these businesses means that the Etisalat BlackBerry service will be a great tool in providing access to information while on the move in addition to allowing users to be wirelessly synchronised with their desktops back in the office.

Etisalat will deploy the service in DWTC and provide users with a diverse range of handsets so that they can exploit the key BlackBerry features of security, management and administration, push access to data and ease of deployment, in addition to varied applications.

The service comes with the additional advantage of Etisalat‘s extensive network covering the entire UAE.

“Etisalat’s BlackBerry Service proves to be an ideal solution for our staff to stay connected virtually anywhere,” said Maryam Al Bannai, senior vice president of corporate support services at DWTC.

“With this service, we are able to perform daily operations remotely and yet achieve the same optimum results across our service offerings and business streams,” she added.

The service will be supported by the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution (BES) which will allow mobile users to access communications and information wirelessly.

BlackBerry Enterprise Service seamlessly integrates with Microsoft® Exchange, Novell GroupWise® and IBM Lotus® Domino® and works with existing enterprise systems to enable secure, push-based wireless access to email and other corporate data.

DWTC employees travelling abroad will also be able to capitalise on Etisalat’s leading, international wide area wireless data coverage.

The service will also enable users who are abroad to get connected to wireless e-mail, Internet access and other mobile applications through data services with 266 roaming partners in more than 101  countries.

“We are extremely pleased that DWTC has selected the BlackBerry service from Etisalat,” said Abdulla Ebrahim Al Ahmed, director-enterprise sales, enterprise solutions, Etisalat.

Essa Al Haddad, Etisalat’s chief marketing officer, stated that Etisalat has the largest BlackBerry subscriber base of any carrier within the Middle East and African regions.

“Launching Etisalat’s BlackBerry service represented a milestone for the region’s business professionals. Now, with Etisalat’s BlackBerry service, business people have increased flexibility and enhanced creativity while being given more time to enjoy their lives in ways never possible before,” Al Haddad added.-TradeArabia News Service
