Chairman of Dubai Foundation for Management and Organisation of Events Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will honour the winners of the Dubai Service Excellence Scheme (DSES) 2007–2008 at a ceremony.
The event, under the patronage of Dubai Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will be organised by the Department of Economic Development (DED) tomorrow (June 29) at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
The awards, which are part of DED’s ongoing efforts to further enhance the Emirate’s service culture in retail industries, recognise and honour high-performing retail outlets and brands.
The winners, who have achieved exceptional service performance levels, have been adjudged on the basis of mystery shopper input. Over 450 participants from the different retail business sectors in Dubai are expected to attend the ceremony.
“DSES seeks to ensure that Dubai-based businesses with high customer interface will integrate superior service quality concepts into their business procedures in a sustained, professional and systematic manner,” said deputy director, general for planning and development at DED, Khalid Al Kassim.
“Business establishments in Dubai must contribute significantly to further strengthen Dubai’s image as the trade and business hub in the region. This can be achieved only by implementing stringent quality standards, especially in relation with customer service aspects.”
DED launched Dubai Service Excellence Scheme in 2002 in line with the directives of UAE vice-president and prime minister and Ruler of Dubai Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum to enhance and develop service standards in the Emirate and establish Dubai’s leading role as a regional commercial and retail hub. – TradeArabia News Service
