The Dubai Mall gets finishing touches
Dubai

The Dubai Mall, already being projected as a place like no other and one that promises visitors a new place and with it a new dawn, is getting its finishing touches for a grand opening on October 30, 2008.

The developer Emaar Malls Group said The Dubai Mall will be one of the world's largest shopping and entertainment destinations.

Sprawling over a total area of 12.1 million sq ft and located next to Burj Dubai - the world's tallest building, The Dubai Mall has an internal floor area of 5.9 million sq ft and adds 3.77 million sq ft of net leasable space to the city's booming retail sector.

Opening attractions of the mall include the Dubai Aquarium & Discovery Centre, Dubai Ice Rink, the world's largest indoor Gold Souk and The Grove, the region's first indoor-outdoor streetscape with a retractable roof.

The Dubai Mall is the flagship development for Emaar Malls Group and is a centrepiece in Emaar's Downtown Burj Dubai mixed-use community. - TradeArabia News Service
