Samsung Electronics has unveiled its new flagship model for 2008, Soul, otherwise known as Samsung U900.

Soul is the ultimate essence of mobile; a slim and stylish yet powerful mobile phone. Boasting all the essential features, the U900 is a sleek combination of highly artistic designs and advanced technology, said an official spokesman.

“We believe that Soul is what today’s consumers are are looking for in a mobile phone. The fundamental direction of the design concept of Soul was to combine the essence of advanced technology with a stylishly designed mobile handset,” said general manager of hand held phones at Samsung Gulf Electronics Sandeep Saighal.

“We truly believe that Samsung U900 will attract style conscious consumers who are not willing to compromise style for technology. These consumers are constantly driven by quality of design and performance.”

At only 12.9mm thin, SOUL is equipped with professional photography functions including a 5 mega pixel digital camera. The phone is enhanced with advanced multimedia capabilities which showcase up-to date features such as face detection, image stabilizer and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR).

Featuring the Magic Touch by DaCP, Samsung U900 is equipped with navigation indicators on the keypad of the phone which change according to the user’s needs making navigation simple, intuitive and direct. For example, when the phone is in the music mode, music related icons will light up on the navigation pad.

Samsung U900 is equipped with an integrated media player which enables users to enjoy an easy to use music and video experience while they are on the go. The phone is compatible with various media sources and supports the playback of purchased and downloaded music files. Samsung, yet again has partnered with Bang and Olufsen to provide a powerful sound quality for an exceptional listening experience.

Soul is equipped with a new series of Graphic User Interfaces (GUI) providing three different options for the user. With the Thematic UI (user interface), users can change the UI according to their personal taste. Additionally, users can modify and create different themes using the User Created Skin (UCS) setup.

Samsung U900 comes with an advanced 7.2 Mbps High Speed Down Link Packet Access (HSDPA) browser which provides fast internet access and enables the user to share images or video.
