Samsung to bring notebooks to ME
Dubai

Samsung Electronics has plans to launch notebooks in the Middle East for the first time.

With the introduction of notebooks to the market, Samsung now offers a complete and comprehensive consumer technology product line up with innovative designs and advanced technology.

Available from December in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, Samsung has planned a phased roll out, with other Middle Eastern countries to follow the next years.

The Gulf launch follows USA, after UK, France, Germany, Russia, China and Hong Kong.

“Samsung has been selling notebooks in Korea since 1995, a market where it commands a whopping 40 per cent share in the notebook space,” said Madhav Narayan, general manager of the IT Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics.

“With this depth of experience we are aiming to capture a considerable share of the total notebook market in the UAE and Saudi Arabia by the end of 2009.”

The decision to move into the Middle Eastern market will complement Samsungs existing range of LCD, storage and printer hardware.

“Research shows that the notebook market in Middle East is expected to increase by 30 per cent by 2009,” he added.

The full range of Samsung notebooks will be available in UAE and Saudi Arabia in December this year.-TradeArabia News Service
