Kuwait has approved bids worth a total of $12 billion for major upgrades at two oil refineries, the state-run oil company said on Monday, in a sign it is moving ahead with large infrastructure projects.

Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo have awarded Japan's JGC Corporation a contract for a feasibility study on the expansion of Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co (PetroRabigh), the company said on Tuesday.
The study is expected to be complete
JGC Corporation and its subsidiary JGC Arabia have been awarded a large scale engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) services contract by Saudi Aramco.
The contract is for large-size utilities, storage and shipping facilities for the
Japanese plant engineering firm JGC Corp plans to accelerate expansion in the Middle East, setting up a unit in Saudi Arabia this spring.
The plant will oversee petroleum and natural gas projects in the region.

Saudi Aramco has asked five companies to bid for the project management and design of a new 400,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery it plans to build at Ras Tanura, industry sources said.
The plant is one of four new builds planned by the w
