BDB lending surges 25pc

Manama, July 6, 2009

The total loans extended by Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) increased by 25 per cent to BD30.4 million ($80.6m) in the fiscal year ended in March, compared to BD22.7m in the previous year.

Beneficiaries increased by 30 per cent from 593 to 822, chief executive officer Nedhal Al Oujan said yesterday (July 5), on the sideline of a Press conference.

Business opportunities rose from 1,700 at March end last year to 2,300 at March 2009, according to a report in our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News. – TradeArabia News Service
