Mashreq appoints new SME head

Mashreq, one of UAE’s leading financial institutions, has announced the appointment of Hameed Noor Mohamed as the new head of SME banking.

In his new role, Mohamed will be responsible for putting together the strategy of the overall SME business model at Mashreq and its execution in retail and corporate segments, a statement from the bank said.

With extensive experience in the banking industry, Mohamed has spent 13 years in Mashreq at various senior positions.

In his previous role, he was head of contracting finance division and Japan desk,  focusing on developing the bank’ s relationship with global contractors operating in the Middle East, as well as heading the bank’s alliance with Mizuho Bank, the statement said.

He also headed credit analysis and portfolio management for corporate and investment banking where he was responsible for portfolio and risk management.

Prior to joining Mashreq, he was with ANZ Grindlays Bank in the UAE, where he held multiple positions in corporate banking, retail banking and structured finance, it said. – TradeArabia News Service
