BIBF launches revamped website

Manama, January 19, 2012

Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) has launched its new website as a part of a media event showcasing its technology plans for 2012.

Launched in conjunction with its impending e-Portal using SunGard Higher Education's PowerCampus Digital Campus and its new financial system, Microsoft Dynamics GP, this technology update is significant for BIBF in maintaining its leadership in training and education for the financial sector.

"BIBF's revamped website has been benchmarked against some of the best education websites in the world," said director Garry Muriwai.

"This was our brief to AFFNO. It was a key requirement to provide users with an easy to find relevant, detailed set of information on everything BIBF offers.

"Integrating this into a new design was critical for giving BIBF's current and future participants an experience that allowed them to feel a part of what BIBF is and what it stands for," he said.

"We are very pleased that the new website begins to deliver on our promise of showcasing the breadth of BIBF qualifications and programmes in an interactive and user friendly way," he added.

"We thrive on briefs such as BIBF's," said AFFNO chief executive Suren Kannangara.

"When a website has to be this comprehensive and extensive in terms of its information, two key challenges come up.

"The first is to make it look simple and easy to the visitor. The second is to keep all this information current and properly updated," he added.

"The BIBF e-Portal will be a significant milestone for us, ensuring we can meet the ongoing demands of our partners and businesses and participants' needs," said BIBF head of operations Khalid Almedfaie.

"The portal will provide BIBF members with online registration and financial status, real time reporting, online courses and testing, and access to all BIBF resources," he said. – TradeArabia News Service
