Abu Dhabi inflation edges up to 1.8pc in Nov

Abu Dhabi's inflation edges up to 1.8 per cent year-on-year in November when compared to last year, said a report.

The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which account for 16 per cent of the basket, rose 3.8 per cent on an annual basis for the month, according to data released by Abu Dhabi's Statistics Centre (SCAD).

Clothing and footwear and furnishings and household equipment groups also grew 3.8 per cent year-on-year in the UAE capital, it stated.

Analysts polled by Reuters in September forecast that average inflation in the UAE federation would accelerate to 1.5 per cent in 2013 and 2.3 per cent in 2014 from 0.7 per cent in 2012, which was the lowest level since 1990.-Reuters
