Qatar inflation hits 2.8pc in Nov

Qatar's annual inflation hit 2.8 per cent in November, according to the data released by the country's statistics authority.

Rents and energy costs, which account for more than 32 per cent of consumer expenses, increased 5.6 per cent year-on-year and rose 0.7 per cent month-on-month in November, the data added.

Food, beverage and tobacco prices, which account for 13 per cent of the basket, rose 2.6 per cent on an annual basis and dipped 0.7 per cent from the previous month.

Analysts polled by Reuters in September expected the world's No.1 liquefied natural gas exporter to see average inflation of 3.5 per cent in 2013 and 4 per cent in 2014.-Reuters
