Islamic bankers association gets 6 new members

The Association of National Development Finance Institutions in Member Countries of Islamic Development Bank (Adfimi) has accepted the membership of six new banks including a Jordanian lender and two Sudanese banks.
The new members are Tadamon Islamic Bank and Al Shamal Islamic Bank (Sudan), Jordan Islamic Bank, the Kazakhstan Fund for Financial Support of Agriculture, Tekun National (Malaysia) and Bangladesh Development Bank.
The new members were announced on the sidelines of the Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB) being held at the Hilton Hotel, Jeddah.
The meeting convened under the leadership of Mehmet Emin Ozcan, the chairman of Adfimi, was attended by Datuk Mohd Radzif Mohammed Yonus, the vice chairman and Nuri Birtek, the secretary general along with a number of the association members.
The meeting also took a decision to reduce the membership fees of the least developing member countries and discussed future events that will be held this year, particularly the flagship event in Kuala Lumpur, which will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
A working document was presented by Birtek that discussed several issues including, report of the auditor, the recommendations of the management committee, promotional activities, distribution of members by region, external audit offers and report, along with the Adfimi audit board and financial tables of 2013 accounts, 2014 second quarter results and budget for 2015.
The members later exchanged their views and took notes of various proposals presented in the meeting.-TradeArabia News Service
