MANAMA, October 15, 2014

At least 58 potential projects representing sectors such as metals, plastic, fibreglass, water, e-commerce, information and communications technology will be unveiled at a major international event today (October 15) in Bahrain.

Being held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the "Invest in Bahrain 2014" forum at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sanabis is expected to attract a large number of businessmen and women from within and outside the kingdom, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The Industry and Commerce Ministry said in a statement that more than $1 billion dollars worth of investment opportunities in Bahrain are expected to be highlighted.

Senior ministers, government officials and top public and private sector executives including representatives of the Economic Development Board, Central Bank of Bahrain and Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry are also expected to attend the day-long event.

A Bahrain-based joint venture between Abahsain Fiberglass and CPIC China that was launched last year will share its experience.

The ministry also plans to launch ideas for new small and medium industrial projects in manufacturing.

Tamkeen, the semi-autonomous labour fund authority, will also review new services and strategy including the launch of "Support the Investor" programme. - TradeArabia News Service
