Al Fulaij ..... will work to strengthen NBK’s leading position in Kuwait.

New CEO for NBK Kuwait

KUWAIT, January 14, 2015

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) Group, a leading bank of Kuwait, has announced the appointment of Salah Al Fulaij as the new chief executive officer of NBK- Kuwait.

Al Fulaij had been the CEO of NBK Capital, NBK’s investment banking arm, since 2007, said a company statement.

Al Fulaij enjoys an extensive experience in banking and finance as he has joined NBK in 1985 and held several key positions at the bank since then. Prior to joining NBK Capital, he was the general manger of Investment and Treasury Group. Al Fulaij is also a member of several executive committees at NBK Group, it added.

Isam Al Sager, CEO of NBK Group, said: “The appointment of Salah Al Fulaij as the CEO of NBK- Kuwait affirms the stability of NBK’s management team and reflects the bank’s successful succession planning. It also represents a milestone in our efforts to achieve our strategic goals.”

“Al Fulaij is one of NBK’s top management calibres who contributed to NBK’s success and to its transformation to becoming one of the leading regional banks,” he said.

“For over 30 years at NBK, Al Fulaij successfully led many businesses building a long track record of achievements. He also led NBK Capital to become a leading investment firm in the region. We extend our full support for him to achieve the bank’s future ambitions and maintain its market share in all business lines,” he added.

Al Fulaij said: “I will be closely working with my colleagues at the executive management to strengthen NBK’s leading position in Kuwait.”

“NBK enjoys a clear strategy and a strong vision that will enable it to continue leading the Kuwaiti market leveraging its large pool of calibres and exceptional quality staff,” he added.

Al Fulaij holds an MBA and Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Miami, US. He has participated in a number of executive programmes at Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business and Duke University, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
