Barclays named ‘Best Private Bank’ in Mideast

DUBAI, UAE, March 17, 2016

Barclays has been named Best Private Bank in the Middle East by Asian Private Banker (APB), for the second consecutive year.

The recognition is considered to be one of the most prestigious awards for private banking, said a company statement.

The award, which was presented to Barclays in recognition of its leading role in the wealth and investment management sector in the region, follows a series of awards and titles that the bank has received in this field over the years, with the most recent one being ‘Wealth Manager of the Year’ in the Middle East for 2015 by Global Investor.

The APB committee awarded the bank based on a number of factors, including the bank’s quality of service provided to its clients and its specialised open architecture platform that offers a full range of tailored products covering investments, credit and wealth advisory, in addition to the bank’s bespoke advisory services.

Commenting on the win, Cedric Lizin, head of Middle East and Africa and head of business, Japan at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management, said: “As we continue to launch more products and services to meet our clients’ changing needs and requirements, we confirm our commitment to delivering exceptional services to our High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients that meet their individual requirements and risk for appetite. Our global execution capabilities, coupled with regional knowledge, provide a compelling offering to this clientele.”

Incepted in 2011, the Asian Private Banker Awards recognises excellence in private banking through a qualitative and quantitative points system, which is scored by a judging panel comprising of industry experts, as well as the editorial staff of the Asian Private Banker. -TradeArabia News Service
