Invest AD appoints new CEO

ABU DHABI, May 2, 2016

Invest AD - Abu Dhabi Investment Company, has announced the appointment of Faras Al Ramahi as the company’s new chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Al Ramahi joins Invest AD from Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, where he has been advisor to the chairman since January 2014.

Mohamed Ali Al Dhaheri, chairman of Invest AD, said: “As one of Abu Dhabi’s leading investment institutions, Invest AD has a very clear mandate to broaden its revenue stream. With Faras Al Ramahi’s diverse experience across Abu Dhabi’s financial sector through a number of management roles in leading Abu Dhabi corporates, we are confident that Invest AD’s growth strategy is in very good hands. We hope to build on our partnerships with co-investors and to extend our local and regional reach for the benefit of our stakeholders.”

Invest AD has for many years offered institutional investors a range of options to engage with markets in the Middle East and Africa.

Al Ramahi has extensive experience in asset management, corporate finance and investment banking from a career spanning 21 years. Prior to his time at Masdar, he was the CFO for Farmers Service Center, a government initiative designed to commercialise Abu Dhabi’s agriculture sector.

He has previously held the role of executive vice president at CAPM investments, a local investment advisory boutique providing advisory on listed and private equity, real estate and financial restructuring; managing director of the National Financial Brokerage Company; head of the Listed Equity Department in Invest AD; and vice president of the asset management division of The National Investor.
