Bahrain Islamic Bank appoints key official

MANAMA, February 18, 2019

Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), a leading provider of Shari’a compliant financial solutions in Bahrain, has appointed Mohamed Mattar as the new money laundering reporting officer (MLRO) within the bank’s Compliance Department.

Mohammed brings more than 13 years of experience in the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) field. We consider our people to be our most valuable asset at BisB, and prioritize the need to attract and retain Bahraini talent as part of the Bank’s strategies for sustainable growth,” said Hassan Jarrar, the chief executive officer of BisB.

Mattar will be in charge of establishing and maintaining the Bank’s AML/CFT policies and procedures, ensuring that the Bank complies with the AML Law and any other applicable AML/CFT legislation and regulations. In addition, he will be the Bank’s main point of contact in respect of handling internal suspicious transactions reports.

Mattar holds a Master Degree in Finance and a number of professional qualifications including Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), the highest international professional certification in this field. – TradeArabia News Service
