Zoho to roll out new initiatives in Bahrain

MANAMA, October 27, 2020

Zoho, a global technology company offering a comprehensive suite of business software applications, has announced new initiatives for Bahrain’s market. It had announced a partnership with Startup Bahrain a few months back.

Commenting on the announcement, Hyther Nizam, President – MEA, Zoho Corp, says: “We are currently working with the Economic Development Board of Bahrain on a number of exciting initiatives, which we'll announce soon.”

He adds: “The partnership with Startup Bahrain is a foundational part of our long-term strategy in Bahrain. We have been able to support the vibrant Bahraini startup ecosystem while strengthening our relationships with the visionary government offices in Bahrain.”

Zoho caters to a plethora of business verticals and industries in Bahrain, namely retail, education, professional services, IT, hospitality, and real estate. Its business solutions are widely used in the Kingdom. These include Zoho One, an all-encompassing business solutions platform; Workplace, an office productivity and collaboration suite; Creator, an customised application maker; and Books, a VAT compliant accounting solutions –

“Over the last few months, we have grown considerably in Bahrain. Our customer base has grown by 85 per cent and products like Books and Workplace have recorded tremendous growth, 188 per cent and 83 per cent, respectively,” says Nizam.

With regard to privacy, Zoho had some time back announced getting rid of third-party trackers on its website. While that might have slightly impacted its business, Zoho says it is confident that in the long term, customers would appreciate the move.

“With B2C companies like Apple taking a stronger stand on privacy, awareness of privacy issues is increasing every day. Customer data is one of the intellectual property of any business, and today, businesses are quickly realizing the multiple issues that come from handing over customer information to surveillance companies,” says Nizam.

“As a business, Zoho is growing even in this pandemic. This in itself is testimony to the fact that we have built the business on a solid foundation, and privacy is one of those pillars,” he concludes. —Tradearabia News Service
