RAK DED, talabat UAE partner to back home projects

RAS AL-KHAIMAH, June 10, 2021

Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development (RAK DED) has signed an agreement with talabat UAE as part of its continuous efforts to support Emirati home projects in the emirate.

The collaboration will allow “Al-Ghad” license holders to display and sell food items on talabat, enabling them to expand their business by increasing their online visibility and reach through direct access to the platform’s large customer database and logistics network.

“This partnership is aimed at paving the way for home business owners in Ras Al Khaimah to further grow and contribute to bolstering the emirate’s economy. By signing an MoU with talabat, RAK DED is forging stronger partnerships with private entities in order to improve the ease of doing business and support entrepreneurs and home business owners in the F&B sector”, said Mohammed Mahmood Mohammed Al Mahmood, Assistant Director General, Director of Business Development Department at Ras Al-Khaimah Department of Economic Development.

He continued: “This is in line with the ongoing digital transformation programme in the Emirate, that reflects His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah’s commitment to support local businesses by facilitating trade and promoting the progression of various vital economic sectors, ensuring that Ras Al Khaimah’s economy continues to flourish and maintain its competitiveness across all areas.”

Under this a memorandum of understanding (MoU),  talabat will be granting RAK DED “Al-Ghad” license holders additional benefits, including zero cost registration fee, a free tablet from Sunmi, photography sessions for up to 40 menu items, one month of free delivery and free renewal fee for one additional year.

Home business owners can join talabat by sharing RAK DED’s “Al-Ghad” license holders with the talabat team via email to [email protected] Once the account is ready, talabat will send a technician to train the trader on the system before the account goes live.

The “Al-Ghad” license can be obtained through Ras Al Khaimah’s Government website using the digital ID (UAE PASS) of the license owner to log in. Applicants can select the services of the Department of Economic Development and follow the steps provided on the website.

This license is a household license issued to UAE citizens in Ras Al Khaimah who are over 18 years-old, allowing them to engage in business from home. “Al-Ghad” license applicants should not have any previous business licenses as it should be their first project.
