Qatar bourse warns over insider trading

Doha, July 26, 2007

The Doha Securities Market, in a bid to discourage insider trading, said it will publicly identify executives who trade in the stock of their company as of Sunday.

"Starting Sunday, July 29, all insider trading-dealing will be disclosed on the DSM Web site," the bourse said in a statement on Thursday.

Companies will have to say when their directors are meeting to discuss and approve earnings, the bourse said.

Shares of companies in the Gulf often rise or fall more than average in the days before results are expected. -Reuters
