Saudi bourse to close on Sept 23
Riyadh, September 18, 2010
Saudi Arabia's stock exchange will close on September 23 (Wednesday) as part of the kingdom's National Day celebrations to mark the foundation of the Saudi state by King Abdulaziz Al-Saud in 1932, the bourse regulator said.
Trade will resume on Saturday, it added.
Earlier in the day marginal gains in petrochemical stocks led the Saudi shares to inch up after oil prices fell for a fourth straight session this week, and a surprise drop in US consumer sentiment data.
The all-share index closed 0.15 per cent higher at 6,364 points led by a 0.4 per cent rise in the petrochemical stocks index.-Reuters
