Bahrain Bourse hosts key programme

Manama, June 13, 2012

The Bahrain Bourse, in co-operation with JP Morgan, organised a three-day programme on investor relations best practices for officials of GCC stock exchanges, along with listed companies on the bourse.

The programme was held for the second time as part of the Bahrain Bourse's plan to develop investor relations and promote best practices among listed companies in the kingdom and other GCC countries.

The programme, which was conducted by a group of specialists, covered a multitude of topics, including investor relations principles and techniques, communication tools, valuation, corporate governance and financial statements.

Sessions focused on practical case studies and explained the importance of investor relations for listed companies and financial markets.

The programme also clarified the structure of investor relations in a company's organisational chart, responsibilities, objectives and the role of investor relations serving as an effective communication channel between the company and parties to ensure the flow of accurate information.

It provided a unique opportunity for listed companies to share their experiences and discuss topics by interacting with each other and specialists.

The Bahrain Bourse organised the programme last year following a memorandum of understanding with JP Morgan in May 2011.

The MoU aims to promote investor relations expertise in Bahrain through a certified training programme that is conducted annually.-TradeArabia News Service
