Tripp Lite revenues up 55pc

Dubai, June 13, 2007

Tripp Lite has registered a year-on-year revenue growth of 55 per cent in 2006 owing to greater demand for power protection products across the Middle East.

A leading manufacturer of power protection equipment, US-based Tripp Lite sustained its growth momentum in the GCC for the first quarter of 2007 with a 15 per cent rise compared to the same period last year, said a top company official.

Tripp Lite Vice President (EEMEA Sales) Vipin Sharma said a huge demand from major industries in the burgeoning regional economy pushed the sales of its extensive power product portfolio across different market sectors to a new high.

According to Sharma, the company was now expecting a 65 per cent growth in the power protection industry in the GCC for this year.

He said innovative products and services have been key drivers in Tripp Lite’s sustained market stronghold for over 80 years in the industry.

'The company is renowned for introducing the world’s first UPS for personal computers and the world’s most trusted surge suppressor, the Isobar, with more than 15 million units used worldwide.'

The company recently introduced some of its latest UPS systems, which boast of advanced features essential for 24/7 business continuity and disaster recovery management, he added.

'Our tremendous growth is reflective of our ability to answer the varying needs of the booming regional economy with a comprehensive product portfolio and specialised services, which have helped clients ensure business continuity and disaster recovery, especially critical in highly-competitive environments.'

'Our first quarter growth was largely impacted by huge sales particularly in the real estate, utilities and hospitality sectors, and we aim to leverage the 65 per cent growth we expect in the power protection business in the GCC,” he added.

Tripp Lite offers localised assistance to its customers in the GCC with service centres and over 15 in-country distributors spread across the region, which are headed by service and sales teams.

'The exemplary standards and practices have translated to a huge share in different segments including the information and communication technology (ICT), telecommunication, GSM, banking, hospitality, real estate, utilities and the government, and we remain upbeat about sustaining the present growth and capturing new markets in the future,” added Sharma.
