Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has launched a residential community for its employees in Ras Al Khor.

The project has all modern amenities as well as leisure and entertainment facilities, which will provide an ideal family living environment, said a statement.

The Dh120-million ($32.69 million) project, completed in a year by contractors Al Fahidi Engineering Consultants, is spread out over a sprawling 406,000 sq ft area and is designed to provide a world-class, pollution-free living environment for the DWTC employees.

Inaugurating the complex, DWTC director general Helal Saeed Al Marri said: “DWTC is embarking on a programme of ambitious and sustained expansion in the shape of the upcoming Dubai Exhibition World and the Dubai Trade Centre District. This will lead to a corresponding increase in our employee community. This complex is designed to provide our employees with a home environment fit for those working in our world class organisation.”

“Finding quality accommodation that is reasonably priced is one of the major concerns for people working in Dubai nowadays,” Al Marri added. “By designing this community, we have given our employees housing which is extremely affordable and includes all the necessary elements for a comfortable stay.”

The complex will provide 794 spacious living units, split into 2-bedroom, 1-bedroom and studio apartments, set in landscaped surroundings. The community also provides residents with a multi-purpose entertainment complex complete with gymnasiums and indoor games facilities.

A medical centre in the complex with qualified staff attends to emergencies and minor ailments. Residents can also eat at the restaurant and access the supermarket for household needs. In addition there are laundry facilities and an internet café.

Modern office facilities and a conference hall are also available for those who require them. With adequate parking slots and arrangements for shuttle buses, commuting to and from work will be convenient for the DWTC employees.

“Quality affordable accommodation and traffic issues are assuming increasing significance for those living in Dubai today,” said DWTC Director of Human Resources Essa Al Za’abi.
