Edessa ropes in UK consulting firm
Abu Dhabi, September 24, 2008
Edessa, an Abu-Dhabi based engineering and environmental firm, has signed a collaboration agreement with UK company SLR Consulting, to boost its services across the Middle East.
The tie-up between Edessa Emirates Engineering Consultants, a subsidiary of Beirut-based Edessa Holding, will give clients access to SLR’s full range of multi-disciplinary services.
A market leader in the waste management sector in the UK, SLR has a strong track record in sustainability issues, including planning and development and energy from waste projects.
Edessa has already partnered SLR on numerous ventures over a seven-year period, including waste management projects in Lebanon and Qatar.
One of the fastest growing environmental consultants in the UK, SLR has over 650 employees working from 20 offices in the UK and Ireland and 24 offices in USA and Canada.
Its Abu-Dhabi office opened earlier this year and the 25 plus team has a well established client base across the Emirates and the wider Middle East and Africa.
Edessa Emirates operation managing director Osama Taha said: “We are very excited about this move, which will open up a wide range of opportunities for both our companies in the highly promising UAE market and beyond.”
SLR director Ian Roberts said: “This partnership will provide an unrivalled combination of local and international expertise across a number of business sectors and allow both companies to tap into increased local demand for environmental services from the rapidly expanding infrastructure market in the Middle East.”-TradeArabia News Service
