De Boer to build space for Dubai expo

Dubai, August 20, 2009

The Netherlands-based De Boer International, a leading supplier of temporary accommodation for large events, is building temporary exhibition space for this year’s Dubai Airshow in order to cope with unprecedented demand.

De Boer is constructing a 7,000 sq m structure at Airport Expo Dubai to enable the show, which runs from November 15 to 19, to cope with an increase in demand for exhibition space.

Because it needs to accommodate large parts and even entire aircraft, the temporary structure will be nine metres tall, enclosing a total area of more than 60,000 cubic metres.

De Boer began installation of its Delta structure, which is a versatile space frame construction, in the middle of August. Work should be completed by September to allow Dubai Airshow time to fit out the space.

“We are very proud to be selected as the supplier of temporary exhibition space for such a prestigious event,” said Stefan Bartosch, managing director of De Boer International.

"All our structures comply with strict European health and safety standards, and De Boer is very well known of its high standard of quality products in the Middle East," he added.

De Boer has extensive experience of international airshows, including the world-famous Farnborough International Airshow in the UK and Le Bourget in France, where it has provided temporary accommodation for many years. At Farnborough, De Boer regularly creates an extra 100,000 sq m of temporary exhibition space.

The Dubai Airshow is the foremost aerospace event in the Middle East and the fastest growing airshow in the world. The airshow is organized by F&E Aerospace, in conjunction with Dubai Airports, the Government of Dubai and in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces. – TradeArabia News Service
