Dynapac launches new, safer poker drive
Stockholm, September 7, 2009
Dynapac, a unit of Atlas Copco, has launched a poker drive which features a rubber protection against shocks and prevents the drive unit’s body from being in direct contact with dust on the ground safeguarding the electric motor.
The new Dynapac Racoon+ flex shaft concrete vibrator is a complete high frequency vibration system eminently suited for daily operation on small and medium sites for applications such as walls, floors and pre-cast fabrication.
Racoon+ features a quick connection device between the drive unit and the flexible shaft making it easy and quick for the operator to change the shaft. A five-metre (16-feet) electric cable improves the user friendliness of the unit and allows extension cables to remain clear of the concrete slab.
The Racoon+ system consists of a 1.5 kW drive unit operating at 12000 rpm and a range of pokers heads from 21 to 59 mm diameter.
The drive unit features rubber protection against shocks and an ergonomic, polycarbonate fibre-clad case fitted with a built-in handle, further ensuring its robustness, according to a statement.
Other protection features include an overload protection function integrated in the on/off switch shutting off the drive unit if it should work under high overload for a certain continuous period.
It also features an automatic cut-off carbon brush that automatically stops the drive unit when completely worn out, safeguarding the electric motor. – TradeArabia News Service
