Energy City infrastructure to be ready by year-end
Doha, June 27, 2010
Infrastructure for Qatar's Energy City, a $2.6 billion property development aimed at attracting international energy companies, will be completed this year, the project's chief executive officer said on Sunday.
First tenants will move in at the end of 2011, with the project to be completed in full in 2012, Hesham Al-Emadi told Reuters.
The group signed an agreement with Qtel earlier this year to build the data centre serving more than 90 buildings, Al-Emadi said.
Energy City is being developed by Qatari Diar, the property wing of the country's sovereign wealth fund, the Qatar Investment Authority.
The project will house the headquarters for state-run Qatar Petroleum and other national energy and petrochemical companies. - Reuters
