Kharafi to bring 'Marina living’ concept to Egypt

Dubai, October 12, 2010

Kuwait’s MA Kharafi Group said it is bringing the concept of ‘Marina Living’ to Egypt with the launch of its ‘Marina Residences’ project at the $2 billion Port Ghalib Red Sea development on the country’s fashionable Red Sea Riviera.

The Port Ghalib Red Sea provides a range of luxurious marina homes overlooking The Port Ghalib International Marina, one of the world’s top marina port resorts and the first official entry port into Egypt.

The studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments and villas are available at Port Ghalib Red Sea, with prices starting from $117,000, said a top official.

“We are delighted to bring in the ‘Marina Living’ concept to Egypt and we strongly believe that Port Ghalib Red Sea is set to rival France’s St. Tropez and Spain’s Puerto Banus as Egypt’s leading holiday destination when complete,” said Ibrahim Saleh, vice president of the Kharafi Group – Egypt.

The ‘Marina Residences’ at Port Ghalib Red Sea are a collection of 600 luxurious apartments and villas, with views of the marina. Each home comes fully furnished and air-conditioned, with kitchens that are equipped with appliances, cutlery, and crockery.

Residents enjoy 24 hour security and the use of full community services such as maintenance, parking and garbage collection, and also have access to landscaped courtyards, and Port Ghalib Red Sea’s onsite amenities as well as optics ring that covers the whole resort and provides state-of-the-art broadband, TV and telephone services, he added.

“The Port Ghalib International Marina has been operating since 2002 accommodating up to a 1000 yachts of up to 60 meters in length. The area offers unlimited options for yachtsmen sailing the Red Sea coast and today the Marina has become a critical stop for thousands of diving trips on the way to Red Sea marine parks,' said Saleh.

'Set on over 8 million sq m of shoreline, phase one incorporates a range of homes, hotels, leisure facilities and amenities all benefitting from stunning sea views,' he noted.

According to him, the first phase at Port Ghalib Red Sea that includes nine villages - each with a distinct identity, a large convention centre and over 160 retail and commercial outlets - is now 40 per cent complete.

In addition to the Marina, four operating international hotels including ‘The Palace’ by Intercontinental, ‘The Oasis’ and ‘The Sands’ by Crown Plaza and ‘Marina Lodge’, and a wide range of luxuriously fully furnished villas and apartments are ready for occupation, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
