Bahrain remote aircraft apron project on track

Construction of the remote aircraft apron project at Bahrain International Airport is progressing in full swing.
Ministry of Works director of strategic projects directorate Ghazi Saeed Al Saleh said they are planning to deliver this vital project as soon as possible.
This will address the shortage of aircraft parking stands at the airport and accommodate the growth in passengers and aircraft to and from Bahrain.
The project will boost revenues for the desired economic growth in accordance with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
Al Saleh pointed out that according to the completion plan for the project, the completed parking stands will be delivered to Bahrain Airport Company in phases to be run consecutively.
The first phase will begin by mid-April comprising two parking stands from a total of eight stands while, all project phases are to be completed by July.
He also added that these stands will be fitted with the latest advanced technology of the Ground Services Equipment providing pre-conditioned air, 400HZ power supply, potable and blue water supplies and sewage evacuation by vacuum.
This will enhance the ability of Bahrain to compete in the aviation industry market in the region.
This project aims to provide parking stands equipped with multi aircraft ramp system which is capable of handling either eight large-body and one small-body airplanes or 17 small-body aircraft, with new apron taxiway and two new links to the parallel taxiway.
The stands are designed to accommodate the new generation of mega carriers such as Airbus A380 and Boeing Dreamliner.-TradeArabia News Service
