Dubai show brings rare jewellery collection

The Dubai International Jewellery Week, to be held next month, is set to be a showcase of some of the most exclusive pieces in the world and a stunning line up of trendsetting designs.

The exhibition will run from Novemebr 10-13 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) and is organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

Jewellery aficionados can browse unique treasures from over 300 different exhibitors representing more than 25 countries including Hong Kong, India, Italy, Korea, Lebanon, Singapore, Turkey, Thailand and the US.
 
“Dubai International Jewellery Week showcases a truly global collection of some of the finest jewellery in the world from leading design houses. This year we have rare handpicked pieces on display and a stunning selection of premium jewellery which is sure to delight the discerning Middle East customer who values quality, design and craftsmanship,” said Trixee Loh, senior vice president, Dubai World Trade Centre.

Visitors can relax and enjoy the plush surroundings of the VIP Pearl Lounge while admiring the precious items on display, including a 99 carat Dubai Cut diamond, a 300 carat pear-shaped yellow sapphire which is one of the largest in the world, and a selection of fine rubies and emeralds. 

Pearl Lounge sponsor Mouawad has loaned the world’s most expensive diamond encrusted clutch, known as the “1001 Nights Diamond Purse”, which is worth $3.8 million. Sure to be a star attraction of the show, the purse sparkles with 4,356 diamonds amounting to a staggering 381 carats.

The limited edition “Enzo Diamante” Opus Siroya Ferrari Book, is also a must-see item at Dubai International Jewellery Week. With a diamond encrusted platinum prancing horse gracing the cover, this coveted book is valued at $250,000 - only one will be sold in the UAE.

Lucky visitors to the show will have the chance to win exclusive prizes, such as diamond, emerald and ruby rings courtesy of Dhamani Jewellery worth Dh15,000 each, as well as two black freshwater pearl pendants set in 18 carat white gold from Mikura Pearls. Certain to delight a lucky prize winner are the rare platinum rings which have travelled to space and back. They are made by Space Wedding Rings and worth Dh62,000.

Up and coming design talent as well as professional excellence will be recognised at the third annual Jewellery Design Awards. The winners will be crowned in a special ceremony at the show, and visitors will have a chance to see the unique items created by the next generation of talented jewellers.

Visitors who want to learn more about the art of jewellery buying are encouraged to attend the Gemological Institute of America’s (GIA) workshops held at the show. Participants will learn how to recognise important diamond characteristics using the four Cs – cut, clarity, colour and carat – and how to look after precious pieces and keep them safe. These complimentary classes take place daily in Hall 7 at 4pm, 6pm and 8pm.

Dubai International Jewellery Week is held in Hall 5-8 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The show is open for ladies only on November 10 r from 11am-3pm, and from 3pm-10pm for the general public.
