MEC and PMV Live open in Dubai

Dubai, November 21, 2011

Middle East Concrete (MEC) and PMV Live, the region’s only complete events dedicated to the concrete and PMV sectors, have opened its doors alongside The Big 5 Construction show, being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre until November 24.

The show will feature some of the region’s biggest players from across the concrete and machinery sectors, including Doka, Peri, Sany, Phillip A Tabone, NFT Cranes and Man Trucks, a statement from the event organisers said.

A total of 7,500 visitors have already pre-registered for the events, with additional attendees anticipated to arrive at the door, the statement said.

Nathan Waugh, MEC exhibition manager at DMG events, said: “Visitors can look forward to an exceptional lineup of offerings at this year’s show. Our live product demos – exclusive to MEC and PMV Live – add considerable value to our events, and we anticipate a great deal of interest in these daily demonstrations. Our free-to-attend seminars are another exciting aspect of this year’s show; taking MEC and PMV Live beyond the realm of the traditional trade exhibition, these workshops will facilitate hands-on learning, professional development, and networking opportunities for our visitors.”

Expanding beyond the confines of the indoor event halls, the show will take over the Trade Center outdoor Plaza to accommodate daily interactive live product demonstrations offering hands-on experience on the latest innovations to industry professionals.

Visitors can also look forward to 22 free-to-attend seminars, a series of workshops, and a relaxing outdoor café that has been constructed out of refurbished shipping containers. Shisha will be served in the Plaza area from 4pm.

“With a total spend of $452 billion set to take place across the GCC over the next decade, and with 80 percent of that total focused in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, MEC and PMV Live are exceptionally well positioned to respond to an increasing demand for quality products, services and solutions across both industries,” said Waugh.

Middle East Concrete is a one-stop shop covering everything from raw materials and logistics to precast products/ training and certification in the industry.

While PMV Live is a brand new event concept which offers a unique mix of products, technology, machinery and live demonstrations for anyone involved in the Plant, Machinery and Vehicles sector.

The shows started yesterday (November 20) and will run till November 24 in Sheikh Saeed Halls and the Plaza at the Dubai World Trade Centre. – TradeArabia News Service
