Abu Dhabi , March 11, 2012
Top construction equipment manufacturers will take part in the second edition of Intermat Middle East, the international exhibition for machinery, materials and equipment for construction and infrastructure.
Organised by Comexposium and its partner Clarion Events Middle East, Intermat Middle East will take place from October 8 – 10 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec).
Key names confirmed to participate at the show include: Putzmeister, Liebherr, Atlas-Copco, Dynapac, Manitowoc, Terex Finlay and Liugong, amongst others, said a statement.
Maryvonne Lanoё, Intermat exhibition manager, said: “Exhibitors were pleased with Intermat Middle East 2011, as it drew in over 3,200 buyers and opinion leaders, out of which 70 per cent were from the GCC. We anticipate to exceed this number in 2012.
“The region is continuously investing in construction development and this show will place exhibitors directly in front of the most important decision makers, buyers, contractors, consultants, government agencies and industry experts. The interest of returning and new exhibitors will ensure the success of the second annual Intermat Middle East,” Lanoё said.
According to a recent research report by Ventures Middle East, over $15 billion worth of construction contracts are likely to be awarded this year in the UAE. The total value of current construction projects in the UAE is $1.249 trillion, with buildings accounting for $871.6 billion, energy projects $190.9 billion, and infrastructure projects $187.2 billion.
Intermat Middle East 2012 will consist of a Construction and Infrastructure Summit along with a hosted buyers programme. In addition, there will be an outdoor area showcasing the latest technologies and innovations from the world’s leading heavy plant manufacturers. The event will cover 20,000 sq m of exhibition space and 7,000 international buyers are expected, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
