Bahrain park work completed

Manama, March 20, 2012

The Bahrain Ministry of Works said it has completed the construction works at the new entrance to Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park - Avenue 16, which links block 111 in Hidd area to the park.

The Ministry commenced work on this urgent project upon directives from HRH the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to accommodate citizens’ needs in the area, said Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, the Minister of Works.

‘Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park is one of the most prominent entertainment projects that have been implemented recently. The new 1.8 km long avenue, which is part of Hatim Al Tae Avenue, provides an easy access and exit to and from the park,’ said Khalaf.

'Now that the new entrance to the park is complete, there is no need to enter the park through Khalifa bin Salman Causeway, nor make a U-turn at Mina Salman Interchange to go towards Hidd,' he explained.

'This of course shall save time and effort for Muharraq and Hidd residents in particular,' he added.

Meanwhile, the ministry said its assistant undersecretary for roads Huda Fakhro recently visited the Northern Governorate accompanied by MP Mohammed Al Ammadi; the representative to District 6 in Hamad Town to understand  the road and sanitary engineering needs in the area.

Al Ammadi highlighted several key needs including the expansion of Wali Al Ahd Highway into a 3 lane road on each direction; the part located between Wali Al Ahd Causeway and the entrance to Hamad Town.-TradeArabia News Service
