Hill wins Bahrain airport deal

Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation has signed a BD6.9 million ($18 million) deal with leading construction risk firm Hill International.

Hill will provide project management consultancy services for the kingdom’s ‘Airport Modernisation Program.’

The comprehensive development project is aimed at elevating the Bahrain International Airport’s infrastructure and services. When completed, it is expected to increase the airport’s capacity to 13.5 million passenger a year.

It was signed at the recently concluded Bahrain International Airshow 2014 in the presence of the Minister of Transportation and acting chief executive of the Economic Development Board Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed; CEO of of Bahrain Airport Company Mohamed Yousif Al-Binfalah, and senior vice president and managing director Middle East at Hill International Mohammed Al-Rais.  

“Hill International is on board to ensure the Airport Modernization Program stays firmly on track.  We are committed to the development of an airport that fully matches the future demands of the Bahrain economy,” said Mohammed.

Al-Rais added: “We are delighted to be appointed for this vital project.  We are fully committed to the quality and time-scale of this development while adhering to the best international standards.” - TradeArabia News Service
