Summertown in Dubai fit-out project success
Dubai, January 22, 2014
UAE-based fit-out contractor Summertown Interiors said it has completed a Dh10 million ($2.72 million) worth interior fit-out work at Al Ghurair Investment’s new flagship office in Dubai within a record time of 12 weeks.
Al Ghurair is one of the largest diversified industrial conglomerates in the Middle East, with global reach and business roots stretching back half a century.
The contract for one of the UAE’s foremost family businesses was a high-specification project that took Summertown Interiors just 12 weeks to complete, said a senior official.
The office, which was designed by Gensler and occupies 2,400 sq m, features a number of open-plan workstation areas, eight conference rooms all fitted with high-tech audio visual technology and several individually-designed executive offices for the company’s top management team.
Marcos Bish, the managing director, Summertown Interiors, said: “The most challenging part of the project was to fit-out the executive offices to meet the individual requirements of the occupants. This required Summertown to custom-build a large amount of the furniture used."
"Our expertise in joinery works was a chief strength in achieving this. We applied alternative fit-out solutions to special features of the build to keep the project within the specified budget without compromising the original design, look and feel specified by the architect," he added.
Sultan Al Ghurair, the director – Business Development, Al Ghurair, said: “We are pleased with the results. This was so much more than just a fit out project, it was an opportunity to create a culture within the business and communicate our brand through the design of the office space."
"We have managed to integrate this vital component thanks to the level of detail and quality of work executed," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
