Bahrain Works Ministry awards $31m tenders in Q1

Bahrain’s Ministry of Works has awarded 21 tenders worth BD12 million ($31.6 million) during the first quarter of the year, said a senior minister.
 
Minister of Works Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf also revealed that the ministry has invited bids for 18 tenders worth BD44.8 million.
 
In January, the ministry awarded seven tenders worth BD6.4 million both in the sanitary and construction sectors, while bids were invited for six tenders worth BD2.2 million covering roads and sanitary projects. 
 
In February, eight roads and sanitary tenders were awarded worth BD2.2 million, while bids were invited for eight infrastructure projects worth BD20.1 million. 
 
In March, the ministry awarded six tenders worth BD3.3 million in sanitary and construction projects, while bids were invited for four tenders worth BD22.4 million. 
 
As part of the government’s programme to implement infrastructure projects that serve citizens in their everyday life in various areas in the kingdom, three projects to construct schools worth BD11.3 million were also awarded. - TradeArabia News Service
