Saudi firm to build 'eye-catching tower'
Riyadh, April 16, 2014
Saudi Arabia's Nayef Al-Rajhi Investment has singed a contract with Japan's Nikken Sekkei consulting and engineering company to build a mixed-use tower in Riyadh, a report said.
The tower, on the King Fahd Road, will be a “masterpiece of architectural and engineering excellence”, the Saudi Gazette said in its report.
It quoted Nayef Bin Saleh Al Rajhi, chairman of Naif Al Rajhi investment, as saying after signing of the contract with Mitsuo Nakamura, head of Nikken Sekkei, that the Japanese company was tapped based on its global reputation and quality of its designs and innovative approach.
The contract follows many meetings to build an “eye-catching” tower against the skyline of Riyadh, he said.
He stressed that the yet-unnamed tower will be constructed to support the kingdom's tourism efforts, the report said.
