Abu Dhabi, April 28, 2014
Abu Dhabi is set to launch a Dh638 million ($173.6 million) project aiming to improve access to and from the Midfield Terminal, currently under construction at Abu Dhabi International airport, a report said.
The project includes the widening of the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway, new interchanges to the terminal and long-term car park as well as an underpass for local traffic, added the report in The National.
The motorway section below the aircraft approach path will also have special lighting, the report said.
Construction will start by September. The roads are likely to be completed in June 2017, in time to meet the completion of the Midfield Terminal, according to the report.
