Dubai eyes record with ‘largest policeman's cap’

Dubai, April 30, 2014

Dubai Police hopes to enter the Guinness World Records for the largest policeman’s cap, which will also be home to the new Dubai Police Museum building, a report said.

The museum’s budget has been approved and the initial plans are under way, Maj Gen Abdul Rahman Mohammad Rafei, director-general of the Department of Community Services at Dubai Police was quoted as saying in the Gulf News report.

The museum will built at Dubai Police’s HQ but will be positioned to be seen by Metro passengers as they pass the Al Qiyadah station.

There are also weapons used and confiscated by Dubai Police, old uniforms, old telecommunications equipment, old radars and brochures as well as samples of some of the ways drugs were smuggled into the country.

The new museum will showcase documents, photos, artefacts and weapons, among other exhibits housed at the old museum – and more, as the new building will be much larger than the old museum, the report said.
