Dubai, May 4, 2014

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) said it has signed up CESI Middle East to provide consultancy services related to connecting renewable energy generators to its grid.

A leader in technical consulting and engineering, CESI said as per deal it will help Dewa in ensuring that the integration of renewable energy projects best serves the goals of the government's green agenda, through further contribution to the energy stability and sustainability of the region.

In three stages, CESI will provide strategic counseling on numerous components of grid management and distributed renewable connectivity to solar energy from Dewa's distribution grid, and will create the utility firm's in-house ability to manage the interaction of its grid with renewable energy projects.

Commenting on the deal, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the MD & CEO of Dewa said the company was actively contributing to building Dubai as a Smart City through three new smart initiatives to achieve sustainable development in Dubai.

These initiatives are solar panels on roofs; smart grids and smart applications and construction and installation of charging stations for electric vehicles.
